First National Directory of Autism Service Providers Launches Online

(Farmington, MN) With one child in every 88 in the United States being diagnosed with some level of autism many parents are searching for the best health care and therapy for their child. Today, ASD-DR.com announced the release of a searchable database of autism service providers.

Autism can be an isolating condition and it is important for parents to connect with others who can help them on their journey. Finally, this internet-based resource fills the need to find qualified medical professionals without resorting to word of mouth or guess work. This database is the first of its kind with autism therapists from every state represented.

Currently over 800 therapists are listed in categories such as ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration and12 other categories.

Members can search by type of therapy, specific state or see an alphabetical list of all therapists currently included. They can also leave ratings and recommendations for therapists or services they have used. This allows everyone in the community to make a more informed decision in choosing the best therapists for their child.

"Not unlike many parents with autistic children, we spent 2 years and went to 3 different doctors, some of them specialists, before we got the right diagnosis for our daughter. If only there had been this kind of website around 7 years ago, we could have helped her so much faster," shared Dawn Marcotte, founder of ASD-DR.com.

"This type of experience is very common with families and there wasn't anywhere to go to find local clinics. Most families end up asking their pediatrician or going to the clinic that is 'in the network.' This isn't always the right choice for their child."

Anyone can visit www.asd-dr.com to find helpful lists of national resources and a searchable database of state organizations.
